Inflectional Endings: -s, -ed, -ing Worksheet – Grade 1

Add -s, -ed and -ing to verbs and pick the form a sentence needs. The easy sheet adds an ending to a word, like jump → jumping, and asks which of three words ends with -ed, like jumped, jumping, jumps. The hard sheet gives a sentence with a gap, like "Yesterday, Mia ___ the dog" with walked, walking, walks, so kids use the time words to choose; some hard verbs change their spelling, like bake → baking and hop → hopping. Every sentence has exactly one word that fits.
