Two-answer questions
Some questions have lots of possible answers. "What's your favourite colour?" has many — red, blue, green, pink, anything you like.
But some questions only ever have TWO answers: yes or no. Learning to spot these is the first step in clear thinking. "Are dogs animals?" Yes. "Is the sun cold?" No. Just two doors to pick from.
- A yes/no question is a question that can only be answered "yes" or "no".
- There is always one right answer — it doesn't depend on opinion.
- If a question needs more than yes or no, it isn't a yes/no question.
