Once you spot a pattern, you can guess what is coming. In 1, 2, 3, 4, ___ the next number is 5 — we counted up by one each time.
Look at the gap between
In 2, 4, 6, 8, ___ each number jumps up by 2. So the next one is 10. The rule is: add 2 every step.
Bigger pattern groups
Patterns can have 3 things repeating too. 🍎🍌🍇 🍎🍌🍇 🍎___. The next is 🍌 — the apple-banana-grape group keeps going.
