The big idea
A grid keeps track of every guess
When you have a few clues and a few suspects, your head fills up fast. A CLUE GRID is a piece of paper that does the remembering for you.
Across the top: list one set of options. Down the side: list the other set. For every cell, you write an โ if it's ruled out and a โ when you're sure.
This tool turns hard puzzles into easy ones. Detectives, code-breakers, and exam-takers use grids to never lose track. By the end of this lesson you'll be able to crack 3-clue puzzles in 60 seconds.
- Draw a small grid โ one option per row, one per column.
- โ a cell when a clue rules it out.
- โ a cell when only one option remains in a row OR column.
